the croo of the woo variety. [08 Mar 2007|04:20pm]

an update on all things woosterlike.

  • emily & shane are engaged!
  • girls varsity basketball came in second in teh new england tournament. school spirit is at an all time high, the FYG was filled at the HVAL championships.
  • pokemon has stormed the campus. most seniors have been assigned a character based on personality and what they were wearing when jordan accosted them.
  • roughly half the senior class has already been accepted the college. the rest of the grade will begin stalking their mailmans soon.
  • the newspaper is very chill. enough said.
  • litmag has become a sort of cult-favorite among the sophmores. like 60% of the staff are sophies.
  • mr. street is taking a stand! he now point blank refuses to sign those forms for abscences (field trips etc).
  • seniors are currently writing their final lost in the funhouse papers. i actually should be doing mine right now.
  • we have a countdown to senior send off.
  • the juniors hand in their leadership essays tomorrow.
  • it's really nice to see mr. adams around campus.
  • tomorrow is the last senior work day.
  • drama just finished carnival. david taylor played another sketchy guy. dillon did like fourteen shots with beth svenningsen. ben was emo.

life is good.

Walk On the Grass?

I feel it should be noted and glorified, that Wooster had it's very first snow day on Friday, December 9th 2005. All rejoiced and many did history notes.

boston was on thursday. not as good as i thought it would be, but better than the philly trip in 9th grade.
aquarium was good.
duck tour was not so good. the driver looked and sounded like ms najman. but crazier. and my duck was full of freshmen and sophmores. and they were annoying. except for colleen. she was cool.

This looks terribly lonely.

Don't you guys know that you're never allowed to leave a Woo community unsupervised for more than a week? Do you KNOW the kind of trouble these things can get into?

God. Insensitivity.

Yay Woo. Looking all Fall-y today.

Things They DON'T Do In College [19 Sep 2005|09:37pm]

[ mood | giddy ]

Along with being terribly disturbed that college is nothing like Animal House, I have reached the conclusions of many things the hard way. I have written myself a list of Woosterisms that should help me figure my way into transition.

-Don't stand in the back of your chair waiting for the blessing. It will never come.
-No one is threatened when you say "If you do that again, I'll bad slip you."
-You can't bribe anyone with goodslips either.
-People look at you weird when you pick up trash randomly, and then look at you weirder when you explain that if you don't, Street will murder you in your sleep.
-No one finds the Mr. Stunt impression as completely hysterical as you do.
-It's ok to walk on the grass. Or sit on the grass. Or lie on the grass. Seriously, you can do ANYTHING on the grass. It's scary.
-"Is that in dress code?" is a phrase you may as well be saying in Greek. The only thing that would be the same is that Siena would still be the only one who could understand it.
- It doesn't matter who was a prefect and who was a music building captain... when you mention anything of the sort, people just go "Woah like in Harry Potter?!" The same goes for Headmasters.
-The important thing is, I graduated before Siena.
-The fact that I've named my new Mac computer 'Shane' means nothing and I'm the only one who will laugh when I call it that.
-Not all Emmetts make my eye twitch.... that's a lie, yes they do.
-Any phrase that begins with 'Those crazy Coakleys' will not be understood.
-Mr. Adams is NOT the most longwinded person in the world. My new Music Tech teacher is.
-Though I live in a tricky area and there are robberies and fires everywhere, Mr. Street still tops the list of things I am ridiculously afraid of.
-Not everyone is going to be nice to you and be accepting. Wooster IS a bubble! THEY WERE RIGHT!
-I have to walk four blocks to get to the huge practice building, as apposed to the ten feet that make up the music shack.
-Waiters don't come and get your food, and if you leave it there, people get really angry with you and start yelling in Portugeuse.
-Everyone, everywhere, regardless of race, creed, style, instrument or whether or not they've met him will find Mac in a dress funny as hell.

I hope that was educational.

okay, do any other seniors feel that we get shafted in terms of classes? i mean, every year there are at least a couple of teachers who really make the material interesting, so you WANT to go to class. not so much senior year. maybe one or two. but that's not good enough! eh... maybe i'm judging it too early, but i'm getting the creeping sensation of getting the short end of the stick. sort of the feeling that this year (up until SiS) will not be a good time. how about you guys?

One Day More... [03 Sep 2005|01:13pm]

"Once before I go, I want you to know, that I have loved you all along..."
-Boy from Oz

So, it's my last day here in CT, and I'm really excited about tomorrow, though this could easily be the Claritin D talking. My brother was asking me, "Do you really want to say goodbye to everyone high?" and I said "Hell Yeah!" so here I go.

Be good to the Woo. You never notice really how great it is until you're gone. However, you'll always be a part of the community. Sure, you may not see Mac in a dress, but you will go back and have Hackett pass you notes ridiculing your love for certain soccer teams during important speeches by Mr. Adams. So love it while you have it, because it's a different place when you've left.
Also, it would be a good idea to rally the troops and get those tiles fixed in the Music Building.

If any of you are in Boston, drop by and see me! I would love to have visitors.

I'll see you all on October 20th, with Katy and Siena in tow.
